About the Cliff Dweller Logo

The Cliff Dweller logo was designed by Emmy award winning graphic artist and Turner Sports Production Chief (and good friend) Scott. The logo draws its inspiration from two Native American sources.....the Kokopelli legend, and the Anasazi nation.

Kokopelli is a Native American legend that appears in almost every nation's folklore. He is sort of a patron of merriment and, um....productivity, liking nothing better than wine, women, and song. The legends hold that he is prone to drop in any time there is a good party going on. You may have seen him in other drawings dancing and playing his flute, but we at Cliff Dweller have adapted him to a climbing motif. As for his merry wanderings...we at Cliff Dweller sanction only the most wholesome of his fun-loving ways, and any opinions or actions Kokopelli may espouse are not necessarily those of Cliff Dweller, Inc., its agents, executors, or representatives ;-)

The Anasazi "Indians" were known for their Cliff Dwellings, which were sometimes 400 feet above ground, the ruins of which can still be found in much of the desert Southwest. In our logo, one such "Cliff Dweller" is simply climbing home after a hard day's work (or play, perhaps). Notice also that he has ignored the easier holds to his left, in favor of a greater challenge.
